A Farmer attempted Suicide in front of CM’s Camp Office, Pragati Bhavan

A Farmer from Gadwal district attempted suicide allegedly at Chief Minister’s Camp Office on Tuesday. The farmer named Mallesh consumed poisonous substance around at 10:30 am, said police.

Reportedly, the policeman at Pragati Bhavan noticed that the farmer vomiting and immediately he was shifted to a hospital. His health condition is stable, said Punjagutta Inspector S Ravinder.Police stated that, the farmer identified as Rampur Mallesh was from Alur village of Gattu Mandal in Jogulamba Gadwal district. Mallesh’s family said that he had two acres of red soil land in the village.Where he cultivated cotton in the 2015-2016 crop season. He sustained losses due to infection of red insect on the crop. Apparently, he disturbed over financial problems.Mallesh wrote letters to district collector and agriculture department commissioner asking for help. He also made frequent visits to the CM’s camp office.

“I came to meet the CM to seek help because I have a huge debt. I tried to meet him twice but they did not allow me inside,” said the farmer. The police asked Mallesh to leave because he did not have an appointment. When he went to the camp office gate again, they stopped him. He immediately drank bottle of Pesticide in front of the police.After the incident, collector Rajat Kumar Saini visited his house and talked to his wife and children to find out his financial condition and submit a report to the government.
