Dasari Continues To Be Critical, Chiru Rushes to Hyderabad

Veteran director and former Union Minister Dasari Narayana Rao is said to be in critical condition. He was rushed to Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) hospital on Tuesday morning after he complained about difficulty in breathing.

According to statement released by the doctors, Dasari will be undergoing a chest surgery in another two days. He is currently put on a ventilator and dialysis support.  

Actor-turned-politician and Rajya Sabha MP Chiranjeevi, who is in New Delhi to attend Parliament budget session, rushed to Hyderabad and visited Dasari in hospital. Producer and veteran actor Allu Arvind too visited Dasari at KIMS on Tuesday. Speaking to media persons, Allu Arvind said that Dasari seemed to be in critical condition, however, he expressed optimism that he would soon be discharged after surgery.  

Born in Palakollu in West Godavari district, 72-year-old veteran filmmaker holds a Limca World Record for directing most number of films which focused social injustice, corruption and gender discrimination in the society.

After the demise of former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa, Dasari had planned to direct a movie taking some real-life instances of Amma and her political career. However, the project seemed to have shelved as of now due to his illness. Dasari is also about to release his biography in the month of May, 2017.
