According to the sources in GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL), which operates Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at Shamshabad as fixed the tight security due to the hijack threat .

RGIA has handled 15.24 million passengers in FY2016-17, registering a growth of approximately 22 per cent in passenger traffic and 23 per cent growth in air traffic movement over FY2015-16.
As many as 16 foreign and 3 Indian carriers connect the city with 18 international destinations while 10 domestic carriers connect Hyderabad with 33 domestic destinations. As indicated by the reports, the data was given by a woman instructor from Bihar.
The police are as of now analyzing the validness of the data. The threat data incorporated a man recognized as Shoaib from Lucknow is intending to hijack a flight destined for Jeddah on December 24. In any case, it is being said that the educator became hopelessly love with him and has given false data keeping in mind the end goal to keep Shoaib from going to Jeddah .
