HYD Metro services are in dilemma

Metro Rail services in Capital City, Hyderabad seem to be delayed for indefinite time.  The Telangana govt. continued to postpone the schedule time of launching the services.

It is reported that L& T the project holder is slowly moving away from the project by win downed its share in the project with several reasons. A 72km metro line in three corridors is planning to construct in a period of five years. Nearly 70 percent of work has been completed but the commencement of services continues to get postponed with the state Govt. as per the reports, the state policy of land acquisition put off the construction works in several places such as Old City, ‘Right of Way’ and several other areas.

The project was started with an estimated budget of Rs 14,132 crore but due to the delays, the cost has been increased to Rs 2,500-3,000 crore extra. ‘L & T has already invested Rs 10,000 crore but a big amount of works are still in pending. Thus, L& T has decided to come out of the project.

It has already started discussing with potential buyers in and outside India to sell off their shares in the project and hand over the responsibilities of project completion.
