OU will host centenary celebrations on 26th April , 2017

One of the oldest universities in the both Telugu states, Osmania University is facing difficult time to gear up the funds for organize its centenary celebrations in 2017.  It is in the stage of funds shortage in the University main account.

The top administration of the University along with the Vice Chancellor is searching way to raising the funds for organizing the historic occasion in the history of the University. The University top officials hosted a consultative meeting and discussed about the fund rising sources. The fund raising committee has finalised the modalities to approach former vice chancellors, alumni who reached top posts and who retired from government services for their inputs on the university’s centenary celebrations.  

The City Mayor B Rammohan has also attended the meeting and pursued the various proposals to mark the occasion including holding year-long celebrations across the state and felicitating 100 noted alumni to mark the centenary occasion and establishing the  ‘centenary garden’ with a two-acre site at the university.  

Apart from seeking state government’s help, the university also plans to approach the Union Human Resources Ministry, which it has learnt, had extended special grants of Rs 100 crore to universities that had completed their centenary. The university is also planning to attract the corporate sponsors and plans to establish a skill-development-cum-incubation centre that will be named after major contributors.
