Telangana Government has decided on Wednesday to set up an Urban Development authority for the development of Karimnagar.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao held a meeting with ministers and officials on development of Karimnagar.He said the town is gaining the importance in view of various sectors including location of a power plant of NTPC, a release from his office. Karimnagar as the gateway to several prominent temples in the district, said KCR.

It serves as a major educational and health hub for the northern districts of Telangana. It is a major business centre and widely known for Granite and Agro-based Industries.An total amount of Rs 25 crore, a part of Rs 506 crore allocated in the budget for the beautification of Manair Riverfront from in Karimnagar district, the release added.
