The congress party does not want to give up Rahul Gandhi even after humiliating defeat in recent elections of Assam and Kerela. Onthe other hand they want to elevate him to the post of President of AICC.

The party may go for a reshuffle of AICC in a couple of months for most of the leaders are above the age of sixty years, for eg. AICC tresurer Motilal Vohara is 88 years old, next comes Mr.Dhigvijai Singh  who generated a controversy saying the party has not needed introspection but surgery. The surgery requires for drastic changes in the organisation.
