Jharkhand’s Education Minister Neera Yadav has become butt of social media jokes after she was seen paying tribute to a garlanded photo of former President APJ Abdul Kalam at a school function.
The pictures were published in a newspaper and then went viral on social media, inviting sharp comments by many.
As per Indian tradition, a garland is hung on a person’s photo only after they are dead.
However, according to media reports, the minister claimed there isn’t anything wrong in garlanding photos of great leaders, as it is a way of paying respect to them.
