BJP Government Releases money for Polavaram project

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the Government of India has released Rs. 3350 crores for Polavaram project and will give additional amount of Rs. 3850 crores soon for the national project.
Rs. 32000 crores are needed only for the displaced and for acquiring lands in the estimated total cost of Rs. 50,000 crores, he added. The Andhra pradesh chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday visited to delhi to met with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping, and Water Resources Nitin Gadkari in Delhi.
The meeting went on for over a hour where Chandrababu had discourses in regards to a few issues including National Highways, Polavaram improvement, interlinking of rivers and so forth. Following the meet, the Center has given its green signal to authorize the pending funds of Rs 2800 crore towards the Polavaram venture in Andhra Pradesh.
The Union Cabinet has given its approval for the special assistance measure for Andhra Pradesh by way of special dispensation in funding of Externally Aided Projects (EAPs) and funding of irrigation component of Polavaram project. The Center has sent the endorsement to NABARD, to discharge the funds.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that with the support of the Central Government’s cooperation, he opined that Polavaram can be the biggest project. And According to the Andhra Pradesh new Capital Rs 550 crore as financial assistance for the construction of Amaravati by the central government.
However, the recent Union Cabinet note is silent on funds for Amaravati on the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu metting with Union Minister today .
