CID has issued notices to YSRCP General Secretary and former MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy. The CID has directed Bhumana Karunakar Reddy to appear on 19th September before investigative officers who are questioning pertaining to Tuni violence.
Bhumana was already grilled by CID on September 6 and 7 for over 16 hours in Guntur on the same issue. CID is investigating into the reason behind the violence took place in Tuni on January 31, 2016, after the meeting of Kapu Garjana convened by Mudragada Padmanabham. Several persons were arrested and released on bail in this case. Criticizing Chandrababu Naidu for illegitimate acts, YSRCP’s official spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said efforts were made to frame Bhumana in Tuni violence to blame it on YSRCP. He further expressed his concerns over the way Bhumana was subjected to a marathon and grueling questioning by CID. He demanded an impartial CBI inquiry into Tuni violence
