Farmer MLA from Giddaluru Assembly Constituency in Prakasham district Anna Rambabu’s appeal to join him in YSR Congress has been rejected by YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The farmer TDP leader is desperate to join the YSR Congress. He was sidelined in TDP after YSR Congress MLA Ashok Reddy joined the ruling Telugu Desam.
To revive his political fortune, Rambabu approached YSR Congress leaders for several times but did not yield any results so far. Rambabu was found guilty in an assault case on Women.
Court pronounced five years jail imprisonment to Rambabu who recenlty released on bail. Under People’s Representation of People’s Act 1950, Election Commission will bar the candidates from contesting elections if they were found guilty by the court. The contestants who appealed higher courts challenging the court judgement are also not allowed to fight elections.
Jagan is not considering the request from the leaders who have criminal background particularly found guilty by the courts. He wanted to keep such leaders away from the party.
