Hold your land for two more years

YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy takes on the ruling TDP government’s policy towards farmers in the coastal district. Addressing a massive rally at Buddhalavaripalem in Krishna district, he clarified that he was not opposed to the Bandar port project. However, YS Jagan questioned the methods adopted by the AP government in taking away the lands of poor farmers.

Jagan has recalled that when Naidu was in Opposition he was against the allotment of 5,200 acres to Bandar Port in 2012, now why he is demanding 30,000 acres for it and on what basis is this being increased to 1.05 lakh acres he questioned. Jagan has said that the government banned selling farmers’ own lands by denying the land registrations in the area. YS Jagan criticized the unjust deal that is being meted out to the farmers where the government wanted to allot them 1500 square yard plot for an acre of land and a promise to pay the farmers a meager Rs.30, 000 per acre per year for ten years, when the fertile land was yielding them two crops every year. You need to hold on to your land for only another two years, said YS Jagan when the corrupt Chandrababu Naidu government would make way for a people’s government, he said. Villagers who are suffering with land pooling have expressed dissent and apprehensions on the governance. All the farmers have vehemently opposed government land pooling policy in the state.
