Shocking Decision of President Ram Nath Kovind on disqualification of 20 MLAs from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as prescribed by the Election Commission of India (ECI) in the most-discussed Office of Profit case. Ram Nath Kovind endorsed the disqualification of 20 MLAs from Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday Jan 21 .
With this, the mega by-election in New Delhi is relied upon to occur in no time. Prior, the Election Commission has suggested the disqualification of 20 MLAs from Aam Aadmi Party .
Everything started more than two years under the watchful eye of when a young lawyer recorded an appeal to for the disqualification of 21 MLAs from Aam Aadmi Party who had been made parliamentary secretaries in Delhi in March 2015.
Despite the fact that MLAs from Aam Aadmi Party had asked for the Election Commission of India to drop the ‘office of Profit’ body of evidence against them, the Election Commission of India dismissed their supplications in June 2017.
After numerous turns, Election Commission of India suggested for the disqualification of MLAs. Ram Nath Kovind has endorsed the Election Commission of India’s suggestion. This situation could lead to by-election in Delhi within six months. The strength of AAP in 70-member Delhi Assembly has fallen to 47 after President of India approved EC recommendation.
