Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is likely to be divided into 30 circles. This was revealed by State Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Minister K.Taraka Rama Rao on Thursday.
The minister has unveiled his 100 day action plan for the city of Hyderabad and other municipal corporations and municipalities of the state. He said that the division of the GHMC into 30 municipal circles would help the officials discharge their services in more effective manner as their area of work would be drastically reduced.
The corporation currently has 24 circles. The total number of circles have been increased from 18 to 24 last year. The minister also said that they have decided to introduce on line services for issuance of permissions to building constructions and occupancy certificates. He said that if the officials failed to issue the certificates heavy penalties would be levied on them.
