The Commissioner of GHMC said on Friday that the plastic can be turned into a polyblend which can be used for the construction of roads. The city generates 3,500 tonnes of garbage in which plastic articles comprise a large percentage.
The life of the plastic roads is more than double in durability when compared to BT roads. Plastic roads reduce pollution besides their durability. The GHMC engineering department is directed to study how other cities make use of plastic for the construction of roads.
