Hereafter it is mandatory to file a case against the minors if they are spotted consuming alcohol, carrying narcotic drugs, tobacco, cigerette or any intoxicants.
According to the Juvenile Justice Act of 2015, it is illeagle to sell intoxicants or tobacco products to juveniles, those who voilate this act are fined upto one lakh and will be imprisoned for seven years.
If the police file a case against a minor under this Act they have to obtain the source of the substance and investigate how the minor possess the product. The women and child development ministry welcomed this
law and invited comments on the rules.
