Police busted malpractice racket

Police busted a malpractice racket at an engineering college organised by the college staff on Monday. The staff helped a student by passing out his answer booklet and question paper and allowed him to write the examination at his friend’s house. The Vice-principal, the examination coordinator and the student are said to be involved in the racket.

Five persons were taken into custody and seized the examination material from them. Mr. G. Vineet Goud aged 21 son of an RTA employee of Uppal completed mechanical engineering from Annamacharya engineering college but failed in third year, the boy was alloted to Narayana engineering college as his centre. The boy felt difficult to clear the heat transfer paper for which he approached his friend Mr. Vishnu who was working as a clerk in Narayana enginering college earlier, both of them struck a deal with the vice principal and the chief examiner of Narayana engg college for Rs.10,000.

On Monday the question paper and the answer booklet were given to Vishnu who took them to Bharath’s house where Vineet took the papers and began to write.the examination. The police nabbed Vineet,Bharath and Vishnu and also Venkata Krishna and Sunil Kumar from the college. Five persons involved in the racket were booked for cheating under malpractice act. Eight mobile phones and Rs. 7,800 worth of examination material were also seized.
