Professor gives up adminstrative post of UOH

Prof. Sripathi Ramudu Head of the Department for the cetre for study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive policy has resigned stating in his letter to the Registrar that his conscience did not permit him to continue as the Head of the Department of the centre when the University was creating a hostile atmosphere for Dalits.

Prof. Ramudu was the supervisor for one of the four Dalit PHD students who were suspended along with Rohit Vemula committed suicide last year. The University did not inform him about the suspension until the orders were issued. He said that Prof .

Apparao the VC had told him that supervisors of other students to influence them leaving the University campus. Prof. Ramudu said that there were many omissions in the process culminating to suspension of the five Dalit scholars from the hostels. In this matter his constructive suggestions had been ignored.
