The Maharajas hid their treasures in temples because of the British rule. They kept thousands of kgs of gold, diamonds, gems in the "Padmanabha" temple at" Travancore" in Kerala. It is estimated that the treasure valued at 22 billion dollars in 2011,being gaurded by the police. The treasure in hand lies unutilised.
